Accepted my first freelance job by chance a few months ago and was still wondering till the very last minute “what the hell was I thinking when I decided to accept the offer”. The pay is very rewarding - considered worth it for such a simple task. But that’s not the reason why I chose to do it, I wasn’t short of money, but I was definitely short of time. I just feel like I needed to do something different in my life for a change and accepted the offer without regards for my capability to do it. I ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO TIME TO WORK ON THE TASK. But, thanks to my luck, thanks to god, thanks to i-dont-know-who-to-thank-anymore, I got to know a fun bunch of friends and seniors.
Last Tuesday was my first presentation with them and they made me reflect a lot. Towards the end of the presentation, they asked me a very simple question, “You are half a year away from your graduation date, what do you want to do after that?” Yes, it is a very common question during this period of time. Every adult, every relative and most of my friends will post this question to me. I told them, “If P&G accept me, then I would work for about 1-2 years, continue my graduate studies, open a restaurant(most probably in S’pore) and get married. Ultimately, I want to be a lovely housewife and stay at home to look after my adorable kids. But all in all, it depends on what options are available at the time I am making my decisions.”
